Jeff Noon is a Scottish writer, musician, computer scientist, television presenter and actor. He is known for his work with the band Depeche Mode. He is also an accomplished solo artist. After leaving school at 16, Noon worked in several jobs before being signed to Mute Records
He has also recorded under the names The Garden of Delete and Echo & The Bunnymen. His latest album, "Ahead of Ourselves", was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2006. Noon has been described by the music press as "the poet laureate of techno-pop", but he considers his work to be more akin to that of John Donne, William Blake or William S.
Burroughs than it is to the music of Depeche Mode or The KLF.
